Ambrocio Melvin A. Matias, PH.D.

Ambrocio Melvin (Din) Matias is an assistant professor in the Institute of Biology, University of the Philippines Diliman (UPD). Din Matias obtained his Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in Biology from the same university where he gained interest in population genetics of marine organisms. He further specialized in these fields during his PhD at the University of Queensland, Australia where he developed interest and extensive skills in computation, statistics, and data science. He has been sharing these competencies through the courses that he handles in UPD and has been applying them to his current research interest, which is to elucidate the processes responsible for the generation and maintenance of biodiversity as well as its documentation.
